Former GP2 driver Stephane Richelmi will make his debut in the FIA World Endurance Championship this year with Signatech Alpine in LMP2.
After spending three full seasons in GP2, Richelmi moved out of single-seater racing in 2015 by joining the Audi-backed Team WRT in the Blancpain GT Series.
The Monegasque racer claimed one race win and two pole positions en route to six place in the championship alongside teammate Stephane Ortelli.
Signatech Alpine today confirmed that Richelmi would be joining for its upcoming WEC campaign in the LMP2 class, completing its endurance racing line-up for 2016.
Richelmi will race alongside Nicolas Lapierre and Gustavo Menezes at the French team, with his first race appearance set to come at the 6 Hours of Silverstone on April 17.
Collective testing for the new FIA WEC season takes place at Paul Ricard on March 25 and 26.
