Four-time ChampCar Series winner Sebastien Bourdais will remain with KVSH Racing for the 2016 IndyCar season.

Bourdais won four straight ChampCar titles between 2004 and 2007 before moving into Formula 1 with Scuderia Toro Rosso, only to return to the American single-seater racing scene in 2011 with Dale Coyne Racing.

After a stint with Dragon Racing, Bourdais joined KVSH Racing for 2014 and has claimed three race wins over the past two seasons, the highlight being a particularly dominant victory at the Milwaukee Mile last year that saw him lap the entire field at one point.

Bourdais had been widely expected to return with KVSH Racing in 2016, but was today officially announced alongside an extended sponsorship agreement with dietary supplement brand Hydroxycut.

"I want to thank Kevin Kalkhoven, Jimmy Vasser and Sulli [James Sullivan] for the opportunity to continue competing for KVSH Racing,” Bourdais said.

“I also want to thank Hydroxycut for their continued support. In the last two years we’ve captured poles, won races, and the Hydroxycut machine has certainly become a fan favorite. We just need to keep working hard if we are going to compete consistently at the highest level and contend for a championship."

Vasser was pleased to have secured Bourdais for a third year, saying: "I am very pleased and proud to say that we have Sebastien Bourdais back the KVSH Racing car. I have raced against him and worked as his strategist the last two years.

"I can say without a doubt that he is an exceptional driver and a true champion. We look forward to winning a lot more races and challenging the championship in 2016.”
