Iowa Corn has announced a multi-year sponsorship agreement with Iowa Speedway, which will maintain Iowa Corn as the title sponsor of the event in Newton until 2018.
Due to the state’s popular production of corn-based ethanol and the sport’s ties with the ethanol industry, Iowa Corn is a natural sponsor for the event. Iowa Corn’s contract with the Iowa Speedway is currently in it’s tenth year, making it the second longest entitlement sponsorship in the sport.
"The state of Iowa continues to lead this country in the production of corn and corn-based ethanol, and we are honoured to celebrate and promote these industries at Iowa Speedway," enthused track president Jimmy Small.
"This has become a lauded Iowan tradition enjoyed by millions across the globe. We are incredibly proud to authentically demonstrate the performance of ethanol in the world's fastest race cars here at 'The Fastest Short Track on the Planet.’"
This year’s Iowa Corn 300 will take place on July 10th, and will be supported by both the Indy Lights and Pro Mazda Championships.
Last season Ryan Hunter-Reay stormed to his second consecutive victory around the Iowa Speedway for Andretti Autosport, ahead of Josef Newgarden and Sage Karam.
