Lewis Hamilton says he’s not bothered by team-mate Nico Rosberg’s recent pole streak, which has seen the German take four consecutive poles, whilst the Briton has had to settle for second each time.
Currently Hamilton has scored 11 poles to Rosberg’s five, but four of those have come in the last four races, but Hamilton doesn’t see a pattern forming and believes much of it has been down to the circumstances.
In Japan a red flag during Q3 meant many, including Hamilton, were unable to complete their flying lap, whilst in Austin, qualifying was cut short, which meant Rosberg’s lap in Q2 was enough to give him pole.
In Russia and Mexico, Rosberg was simply quicker, but Hamilton says it’s “no big deal”.
“Nico did a really good job to win that race, and he did it after scoring his fourth consecutive pole position,” he wrote in his BBC column.
“I’m not worried about that run. I don’t see it as a pattern; it’s just the way things have worked out at the individual races.
“I’ve had a great run in qualifying this year and you can’t get it right all the time. It’s no big deal.
“Having said that, of course qualifying is important and naturally I want to get pole this weekend at Interlagos.”
