Red Bull shocked the F1 world when it unveiled its RB11 on Sunday, sporting a ‘disruptive zebra’ pattern aimed at hiding intricate detailing.
The livery received strong support from Red Bull’s fans, with the majority applauding the team for their brave approach and urging them to keep it for the season ahead.
However Red Bull doesn’t plan on retaining the test livery, but team principal Christian Horner has promised an “even stronger” livery when the car lands in Australia.
“They won’t be disappointed, because the livery will be even stronger,” he told Autosport.
“I think that it is great to do something different, and it has been extremely well received.
“The livery is different every year – although you may not have noticed. Every year it has evolved, so just wait and see,” he added.
Horner explained that the zebra pattern idea came from Sebastian Vettel’s Italian Grand Prix helmet design, and the team thought it would be a good idea to use it on the car.
