Red Bull were forced to test without a front-wing on Monday after Daniil Kvyat’s early off damaged the only wing the team had prepared for the RB11.
The Russian went off circuit during his installation lap and damaged the wing. With no spare parts, the team were forced to lap the Jerez circuit without a front-wing to collect some data, ensuring the day isn’t completely wasted.
The team hope to have a replacement flown in on Monday evening, but it’s unlikely to arrive in time for today’s test session according to team principal Christian Horner.
“Certainly by tomorrow…but today is difficult to say at the moment. It’s a work in progress,” he said.
