Nico Rosberg has warned title rival and team-mate Lewis Hamilton to drive cleanly this weekend to ensure the title battle is a fair one.
During the FIA press conference on Thursday, Rosberg said he’d be pushing to force a mistake from Hamilton, similar to what happened in Brazil.
“I need to do what I can to try and put the pressure on,” said Rosberg. “In Brazil Lewis made a mistake so there is a chance. I need to do what I can to keep going like that.”
When Hamilton was asked if he was confident of a clean fight in Abu Dhabi, considering past incidents this season, he replied: “Yeah. That how it’s been. You have to go into the race weekends believing that’s going to be the case, yeah.
“It’s already been discussed at the beginning of the season and several times through the season and particularly after Spa, so there’s no reason to revisit it. We’re not children, we should know what is wrong and what is right.
When asked if he could do anything to be certain of a clean fight, he added: “Don’t think so.”
Rosberg however wasn’t so sure, and hit back: “Lewis can do something to keep it clean which is to drive cleanly himself. So it’s not like he can’t do anything.”
