Lewis Hamilton was fastest during the final practice session for the Monaco Grand Prix as he threaded his W05 through the narrow city streets to a 1:16.758 – just five hundredths quicker than Daniel Ricciardo.

The Red Bull driver split the ever-dominant Mercedes duo, whilst the second Red Bull of Sebastian Vettel was fourth quickest, four tenths down on Hamilton and his team-mate.

Following the top four was like a scene from Noah’s arc, with both Ferraris, Force Indias, Toro Rossos, McLarens and Williams’ all coming in two-by-two from fifth to 14th.

The session saw no drama, the biggest incident being that of Jean-Eric Vergne running wide at turn one, before recovering as the checkered flag fell.
