FP2: Alonso tops damp second practice in Monaco

Fernando Alonso was quickest during second practice for Ferrari to beat Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton by some four-tenths.

The session started with a wet track thanks to an earlier downfall, but began to dry. However just one laps was completed in the opening 30 minutes by Valtteri Bottas to the fans disappointment.

With some sun breaking through the scattered cloud, more cars began to join, first with Sauber’s Adrian Sutil who finished 13th fastest.

The closing few laps saw the most action, with Hamilton popping into second, Sebastian Vettel into third and Jean-Eric Vergne taking fourth from the daring Finn.
