FP1: Hamilton leads from Rosberg in Monaco

Lewis Hamilton topped the timing screens for first practice from an overcast but dry Monaco, but team-mate Nico Rosberg certainly wasn’t far behind.

The Briton’s time was just three hundredths quicker than his team-mate’s best lap around the principality on Thursday morning.

Daniel Ricciardo meanwhile was third quickest ahead of Fernando Alonso and his own team-mate Sebastian Vettel – all of which were within a second of Hamilton’s time.

Alonso out-braked himself at Mirabeau but managed to recover, however 17th placed Adrian Sutil wasn’t so lucky and span his Sauber with the rear tapping the barriers and causing light damage.
