Jenson Button’s participation in the Spanish Grand Prix is not in doubt, according to his McLaren team, following reports he suffered a leg injury.

The Briton decided to pull out of the Canary Island triathlon at the weekend. He had completed the swim and bike ride, but chose not to complete the final run.

That prompted rumours he had injured himself, but a McLaren spokesperson denied the reports and insisted he is in full health.

“Jenson decided not to complete the Canary Islands triathlon, but he is fit and well and has, contrary to a few rogue media reports, no injuries of any kind,” said the spokesperson.
