The FIA has set a date to debate Red Bull’s appeal against Daniel Ricciardo’s exclusion from the Australian Grand Prix.
The Australian driver lost his second place after the race stewards found that he had “consistently exceeded the fuel flow limit.” The team were warned during the race, but chose to ignore the FIA, believing their own readings were more accurate.
The team have therefore chosen to appeal the decision, which will see it go before the International Court of Appeal on April 14th.
A decision is likely to be announced ahead of the Chinese GP. That however leaves Red Bull with a difficult decision as to whether they heed the FIA’s advice on fuel flow in Malaysia and Bahrain and risk further disqualification, or use their own data again and hope the appeal is successful.
