Red Bull had until Thursday to log its appeal with the FIA following Daniel Ricciardo’s exclusion from the Australian Grand Prix.
The team today confirmed it has gone ahead with the process, filing appeal papers with the governing body on Thursday morning.
Ricciardo was disqualified for “consistently exceeding the fuel flow limit” during the race in which he finished second. As a result, the stewards excluded him, but the Red Bull team are confident he was within the regulations and that a faulty sensor was the blame.
The appeal will be processed by the FIA, before a date is set for Red Bull to go before the International Court of Appeal in Paris to present their evidence in the hope of overturning the exclusion.
