Ferrari plan to introduce a raft of upgrades for the upcoming pre-season test in Bahrain, which will bring the Ferrari F14-T closer to its race specification.
With a focus on reliability and the new power units, the majority of teams have brought basic packages to the first and second pre-season tests in Jerez and Bahrain respectively.
With much of that work completed, at least for Mercedes and Ferrari powered cars, the focus will now switch to outright speed.
Chassis technical director Pat Fry revealed that a number of developments would be run during the four-day test which begins on Thursday.
“We’ve got a few bits that we’re testing to check correlation, but I wouldn’t really call them upgrades,” he said.
“The main upgrades we will be bringing through at various stages of next week.”
Meanwhile technical director James Allison says they’ll be running a car much closer to the one which be run at the first race in Australia.
“For the last four days, our programme will see us attempt to operate the car ever more closely to the way that it will run in a race, providing invaluable practice for the drivers and subjecting the car and all its systems to the full rigor that it will need to withstand throughout the season,” he added.
