Marussia won’t be debuting their 2014 car on Tuesday as planned, due to a ‘technical glitch’ which will delay both its launch and on-track debut.
The team had planned to unveil the Ferrari powered MR03 on Tuesday and give Max Chilton time behind the wheel, but team principal John Booth has confirmed that it will now remain at their factory in Banbury until the issue is resolved.
“The MR03’s testing debut is subject to a delay while we resolve a small but frustrating technical issue,” said a team spokesperson.
Booth meanwhile didn’t give an estimate on when that would be or what the glitch was, but he said the team hoped to fly it out to Spain to test “sometime this week”.
The news means only nine cars will make their track debut on the first day of testing, with Lotus sitting the first test out entirely.
