Ross Brawn says he’s in no rush to confirm his future plans, but says it’s likely he will make a decision in the summer once he’s had a few months away from Formula 1.
The Mercedes team principal, who relinquishes his role this month, has been linked to several roles elsewhere including McLaren, Honda, Ferrari, Williams and even the FIA.
However he has confirmed he will take some leave before making his decision.
“I’ve got to take a break for a while, and just see how things pan out,” he told the Mirror. “I’ll take a few months off, perhaps go and see a few more football games.
“Maybe around the summer time I’ll decide what’s happening, it is a sabbatical.”
His future might not even revolve around F1 after confirming he’s “open minded” about his plans.
“I think if I get involved again in motorsport it will be F1, but I’m very open minded,” he added. “I think it depends what motivates me, and what people offer, so we’ll see what happens in the summer.”
