Felipe Massa’s time at Ferrari is nearing its end, but the Brazilian is still hopeful of winning a final race for the team before Kimi Raikkonen takes over.
However he doesn’t believe a victory is necessary to boost his CV as he looks for an opening at a rival team.
“It’s a dream [to win again] but anything is possible,” he said. “Anything is possible in this job: how many times have we seen a guy win a race without being in the best car. You never give up hope and I will try to get one more victory.
“I think my experience matters more [though],” he added. “Everyone knows what I can bring to a team, especially at a time when everything will start from zero with new rules and I think I can bring a lot to a team.”
Massa is expecting an emotional farewell after spending eight seasons with Ferrari, made even more special because it takes place at his home race.
“It’s always very emotional for a Brazilian, but even more so in your last race for Ferrari.
“I hope I can have a great race and a great result, but before then, I hope we can go well in all these last races.”
