Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber made a big step forward in final practice to show their intent of securing a third consecutive pole position.
The German placed his car at the front by a tenth over his team-mate, whilst the Mercedes paid could only come within fourth tenths.
Fernando Alonso was the ‘best of the rest’ ahead Lotus’s Romain Grosjean.
