Caterham’s Charles Pic has been handed his second reprimand of the season for ignoring a signal to enter the weighbridge during second practice.
The Belgian drove past a red light and a steward signalling him to turn off, believing it was for the car behind him.
In a statement, the stewards confirmed Pic “failed to proceed to the FIA garage for weighing when signalled to do so.
“He admitted having seen the red light and that the official pointed to him. However he claimed that he believed the light was for the car behind him.”
This is his second reprimand of the season. Should he collect another before the end of the year, he will receive a ten-place grid penalty like Red Bull’s Mark Webber who will serve his penalty this weekend.
His previous reprimand relates to an incident at the Belgian GP when he rejoined the track in an unsafe fashion manner during practice.
