Sebastian Vettel further extended his championship lead with a runaway victory in Singapore which only came to trouble at the start when he temporarily lost the lead to Nico Rosberg.
The Red Bull driver dominated the field, often lapping two seconds quicker. His lead would have been far greater had it not been for a mid-race safety car for Daniel Ricciardo’s accident.
Fernando Alonso came from seventh to finish second ahead of Kimi Raikkonen who, despite back pain, fought from 12th on the grid.
The Mercedes duo came in fourth and fifth, with Felipe Massa sixth.
McLaren looked set for their best race of the season, with a podium even looking likely, but ageing tyres left them fighting for places in the closing laps. They eventually finished seventh and eighth.
Mark Webber retired on the final lap after his RB9 spat flames out the rear. Meanwhile Romain Grosjean and Paul di Resta also failed to finish with the former hitting reliability woes and the latter ending up in the barrier.
