Mercedes team principal Ross Brawn has recently been linked with the Williams F1 team, with some reports suggesting he might be about to buy into the outfit.
The Briton has however laughed off the reports that he might purchase Toto Wolff’s 16 per cent share in the team the Austrian left to join Mercedes.
“I’m definitely not buying shares in Williams,” he exclaimed during an interview with Sky Sport’s F1 Show.
The rumour came about a fortnight ago and was fuelled by speculation that Brawn will be forced to leave Mercedes at the end of the season when Paddy Lowe is expected to take over as team principal.
Therefore, in order to remain in F1, he is looking for a new project. Brawn however is adamant he is looking to remain at the Brackley team next season.
“I’m planning to be here next year so there’s nothing else happening, I can guarantee it,” he added.
