Lewis Hamilton isn’t depressed by Sebastian Vettel’s success despite the German heading toward his fourth consecutive title after taking his sixth win of the season in Italy to extend his lead.
Hamilton, who has won just a single race this year, is adamant the German’s success isn’t disheartening, but alluded to the fact Vettel has had the best car each season.
“It’s not depressing,” said the 2008 champion. “Sebastian is driving very well, as he should do as a world champion, so you have to give credit to him, and he is a nice guy.
“He’s also got the best car and he is delivering with it. He’s not making any mistakes.”
Hamilton is certain Mercedes can eventually beat Red Bull and will continue to push until the very end – as he feels he did in Italy – until that becomes a reality.
“We’ll keep pushing, we’re a good team, and I do feel we can beat them in some races moving forward.”
