A record 21-race calendar has been circulated amongst the teams in Italy on Thursday and includes a return to Mexico but no New Jersey Grand Prix.
The draft schedule will require approval from the World Motor Sport Council when they meet in Croatia later this month, but it’s believed the calendar has the necessary backing from all the teams and the FIA.
As we reported, Mexico has made a quiet return as the third to last race of the season, whilst both Austria and Russia are also confirmed for next year.
Australia remains the season opener before the circus heads to Malaysia, China and then Korea – despite threats the race in Yeongam could be dropped as has happened with India.
Bernie Ecclestone’s dream race, New Jersey, has failed to make it due to ongoing financial concerns and looks likely to be cancelled or delayed until 2015 at the earliest.
