Mark Webber has let slip that Daniel Ricciardo will be his replacement at Red Bull next season, despite the team’s insistence that a decision hasn’t yet been made.
When asked about the vacant seat and who he’d like to see fill it, he responded: “The decision’s made. We all know who it is. I’m happy with that decision,” he told Channel 10.
Whilst he didn’t name any names, he certainly hinted that it would be his fellow countryman Ricciardo.
“It’s good for him and good for Australia,” he added.
The Toro Rosso driver meanwhile refuses to confirm the reports.
“I’m not going to assume anything. For me there is still a seat up for grabs,” said Ricciardo.
“Obviously there is a bit of excitement around, but there is nothing further to say from what I knew in Budapest.
“I think I’ve learned that until something is signed, sealed and delivered nothing is ever concrete.”
