The Hungarian Grand Prix has cemented its place on the Formula 1 calendar after agreeing a new five-year extension to its current contract.
Bernie Ecclestone and Hungary’s minister of national development Lászlóné Németh signed the contract on Sunday morning prior to the grand prix.
The current deal was due to expire in 2016, therefore the new contract will see the Hungaroring host F1 until at least 2021.
As part of the agreement, it’s believed circuit improvements are planned, including main grandstand and medical centre upgrades.
