Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo has reiterated comments made by team principal Stefano Domenicali, giving his full support to the Brazilian for the remainder of 2013.
However Massa’s future after this season remains uncertain after multiple incidents in the last four races which has seen him score just 12 points in the past four races compared to Alonso’s 51.
“Felipe is fully aware he can count on our total confidence in him,” said Di Montezemolo on Wednesday.
“I hope he will soon secure the results that will show his talent to the full, such as the great starts he pulled off at the last two Grands Prix.”
When it comes to next season, the Italian says they won’t rush a decision on who will line up alongside Fernando Alonso.
“The future? We will talk about that further down the line as there’s no hurry.”
Last year, Ferrari extended Massa’s contract by a single season and didn’t announce the decision until October.
