Sebastian Vettel put Red Bull top in the second practice session for the German Grand Prix with a 1:30.416.

The German set his best time early in the session with a flying run on the new soft tyre to jump to the top of the timing screens ahead of Mercedes’s Nico Rosberg.

Rosberg split the Bulls with Mark Webber just two tenths slower, whilst the Lotus and Ferrari duo lined up in fourth to seventh.

Further down the grid and it was a similar story, with all the remaining teams minus McLaren in consecutive order.
