Kimi Raikkonen and Daniel Ricciardo have both been handed grid penalties after they failed to line-up correctly at the end of the pitlane when Q2 was restarted following Felipe Massa’s crash which brought out the red flags.
The Lotus and Toro Rosso drivers both get two place penalties, but because Ricciardo’s penalty is applied after Raikkonen’s, they both technically lose just one.
Raikkonen will start 10th whilst Ricciardo starts 11th, having qualified ninth and tenth respectively.
Five drivers in total had been called to the stewards room for the same offence. Sergio Perez, Jean-Eric Vergne and Pastor Maldonado being the other three.
The stewards only chose to punish Raikkonen and Ricciardo because they were completely outside of the markings which designate the pit exit.
