The Marussia outfit will switch to either Ferrari or Mercedes power in 2014, according to chief executive Andy Webb.
With the departure of Cosworth at the end of this season and the introduction of the V6 turbo-charged unit next, Marussia have been forced to find a supply from elsewhere.
Webb says they’re choosing between Ferrari and Mercedes at the moment and they hope to make an announcement in the coming weeks.
“It’s obvious that with the departure of Cosworth then we can choose between Ferrari and Mercedes. We’ll talk with both,” he told Championat.
“It is clear that the price will be an important factor, because the cost will be significantly higher than the current engines.
“And we need to make sure we choose the right partner. I hope to be able to announce our decision in the next four weeks.”
He also confirmed that their 2014 car is already in development and has been in McLaren’s wind tunnel for aerodynamic testing.
