Williams has brought to an end the launch season after finally unveiling its 2013 car, the FW35, at the second pre-season test in Barcelona on Tuesday.
The Grove outfit has been using a modified version of its previous car in Jerez in order to collect tyre data.
The team will now focus its efforts on developing the new car which has adopted the ‘modesty’ panel, aggressive sidepods and a small rear – similar to the FW34.
Technical director Mike Coughlan says the team can be happy with what has been achieved and he is confident the car will be quicker.
“Given the rule stability over the winter,” he said. “I’m pleased with the gains that we’ve been able to make with this car.
“It’s a better, more refined Formula One car than the FW34 and I think everyone involved in the project can feel proud of the work they’ve done.”
