Ferrari have confirmed that their 2013 car will be officially called the F138, to honour the last season in which the V8 engines will be used.
The sport will switch to new 1.4 litre V6 turbo-engines in 2014, a decision Ferrari have made clear they’re not entirely happy about.
To mark the switch, the car will take the final two digits of the current year, 2013, and the number of cylinders in the engine, 8, to form F138.
Unlike other teams, which follow a pattern, Ferrari have a habit of changing the way in which they name their cars. Last season saw the F2012, and before that the F150º Italia.
