Renault became only the second engine manufacturer to reach a double century of pole positions thanks to Mark Webber’s stunning lap on Saturday in Korea.

Ferrari are the only other engine supplier to have exceeded 200 pole positions.

Managing director of Renault Sport F1, Jean-François Caubet, hailed the milestone and thanked all 22 drivers who have contributed.

“Reaching 200 poles is a milestone in our F1 history,” said the Frenchman. “Looking back on our involvement in the sport, in the first years of the turbo I don’t think anyone would have thought we could reach this figure!
