Lewis Hamilton is confident he can challenge for the title as he closed the gap to Fernando Alonso by 15 points in Hungary.
The McLaren driver was back on form this weekend to take victory in Hungary ahead of the Lotus duo of Kimi Raikkonen and Romain Grosjean.
Whilst the 27-year-old understands the need to improve, he’s sure he can close the 47-point gap to challenge for the title come the end of the season.
“An amazing day, fantastic work by all the team, great pit-stops and the fans here have been fantastic so thanks for having us this year,” he said after the race.
“I’m looking forward to continuing the championship. There is a long, long way to go and we’ve got a lot of work to do. These guys are obviously very close to us but we’re going to give it all we can.
“This weekend shows it is all to play for still,” added Hamilton. “Not enough points taken off Fernando but if we can continue this kind of performance we can catch up.
“We need consistency and we need to improve the car still in many areas and I am sure we will do that.”
