Charles Pic has been cleared to race in Sunday’s British Grand Prix despite being outside of the 107% qualifying time on Saturday.
The Marussia driver set a best time of 1:54.143 during Q1, some four tenths slower than the minimum requirement.
However having set a 1:37.060 during the dry third free practice session, the governing body has allowed the Frenchman to race.
Pic starts 24th having qualified last, but also takes a five-place penalty which doesn’t effect his starting position, following a change of gearbox.
