The two young driver tests at Silverstone and Abu Dhabi are both at risk of being cancelled following a contractual dispute between Silverstone and Formula One Management (FOM).
FOTA agreed to run two tests in order to allow a team to choose between a mid-season test following the British Grand Prix or a season end test in Abu Dhabi.
The majority of outfits were in favour of running at Silverstone, but a contractual issue with FOM, which sees the circuit unavailable for private tests on the required days, means it’s at risk of being cancelled.
FOTA is looking to resolve the issue, but if the association can’t come to an agreement with FOM, the second test is also at threat of being cancelled with just three of the teams, Red Bull, Toro Rosso and McLaren, wanting to skip Silverstone in favour of Abu Dhabi.
