Kimi Raikkonen will not get to test the E20 this week in Mugello after Lotus confirmed that Romain Grosjean would be behind the wheel on Wednesday and Thursday.
The adverse weather conditions, which caused a red flag in the afternoon, meant Jerome d’Ambrosio only completed 40 laps. The team want to learn as much as possible and believe using the same driver will allow them to do so.
“The mixed conditions, running intermediates to start and then switching to the medium compound slicks, also gives us a good base line for Romain over the next two days,” said Alan Permane.
“We’ve opted for one driver for the next two days so we can make better use of the time after losing this afternoon’s running.”
