Nico Rosberg topped the final practice session for the Malaysian Grand Prix on Saturday morning with fastest time of the weekend so far.

The Mercedes driver was almost half a second quicker than anyone else.

Sebastian Vettel slotted into P2 ahead of his team-mate, Mark Webber. The Red Bull duo split by just a couple of thousandths.

A further tenth behind were the Lotus cars, with Kimi Raikkonen leading Romain Grosjean in P4 and 5 respectively.

The top 14 cars, minus Rosberg, were covered by just under a second whilst the majority of the grid came within two seconds of the lead time.

However most drivers opted to stay in their garages, with a wet final sector discouraging running. Lewis Hamilton set the fewest laps after an off at turn 14 sent him into the gravel, though he managed to recover to the track.

Several other cars had minor offs as a drying line only began to appear 30 minutes into the damp session.
