Double-DRS for season opening Australian GP

The season opening Australian Grand Prix at Albert Park will feature two drag-reduction zones, after the single zone last year failed to impact on the race.

The first zone will match that of 2011 when the system was first used, with detection before turn 14. Those within a second as they cross the D1 line can then activate the rear-wing as they exit turn 16.

The second zone, which isn’t an independent zone and therefore uses the same detection point, comes just after turn two giving the following car another chance to pass into turn three.
