The HRT outfit hopes to debut its 2012 car on the final day of pre-season testing, according to one of its drivers, Pedro de la Rosa.
“The truth is that, today, the goal is to try to debut on Sunday,” de la Rosa said on Wednesday.
However, if the F112 doesn’t make its track debut on Sunday, the Spaniard is hopeful of testing on Monday, though with it being a dedicated filming day, the outfit can’t reach top speed and must use Pirelli’s demo tyre.
“If not, we would have the possibility to do a test on Monday … We are in the construction phase of the car and it would be great to have it ready for Sunday.”
The F112 only passed all 18 mandatory FIA crash tests last Friday which meant it couldn’t particpate in the second test at Barcelona, due to a new for 2012 regulation.
