Fernando Alonso put to bed some of Ferrari’s worries by recording the quickest lap on the final day of testing in Jerez on Friday.
The Spaniard recorded a 1:17.613 to go seven tenths quicker than the Toro Rosso of Jean-Eric Vergne in second, but it wasn’t all rosy for Ferrari as the F2012 presented the team with hydrualic problems in the afternoon which limited their running to just 39 laps.
The times behind Alonso were much quicker, with second to eight split by just over a second – though testing times mean very little in the scheme of things.
