Nico Rosberg goes into the 2012 season with a “good feeling” about Mercedes chances in the championship as he aims to take his first race victory, and the teams.
Despite Mercedes having tasted little success since rebranding the Brawn GP outfit, just three podiums in 2010, whilst 2011 saw Michael Schumacher take their best finish – fourth in Canada – the German is confident they can fight at the front.
“If you’re at the wrong time in the wrong place then there is not much you can change,” the 26-year-old told Bild.
“I have a good feeling about 2012,” he added. “All our guys are working hard to get Mercedes to the right end of the grid.
“In this sport you are very dependent on the machinery and even if someone thinks he is best equipped to win it may not turn out that way. However, I am happy with this team and want to lead Mercedes to the championships.”
