Jean-Eric Vergne set the quickest time on the opening day of the young driver test in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday.
The 21-year-old got behind the wheel of the Red Bull RB7 to set a best lap of 1:40.011, almost a second quicker than second placed man Jules Bianchi in the Ferrari F150º Italia.
The majority of drivers spent the day getting familiar with the cars which they have only driven in the simulator or during straight-line testing.
