F1 Rocks has postponed its first Indian event following a technical glitch which meant the concert couldn’t go ahead on Friday.
The event, which is being headlined by rock band Metallica, will now take place on Saturday in Delhi.
The cancellation, which according to reports wasn’t made clear to the waiting fans until they had entered the arena, resulted in a minority climbing onto the stage to show their frustration by breaking sound and lighting equipment, which has prompted an investigation by the local police authority.
A statement from the organisers confirmed the issues: “F1 Rocks™ and Metallica regret to announce that due to technical difficulties the Metallica show at Gurgaon in India this evening has been postponed until Saturday October 29, 2011.
“F1 Rocks™ and Metallica apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
A video showing some fans misbehaving has been posted on YouTube.
