Adrian Sutil is keen to seek confirmation that his seat is safe at Force India, amid speculation that the outfit is looking to replace him with third driver Nico Hulkenberg.
The experienced German has been told he must wait until December, when the season has ended, for a firm decision, but Sutil is seeking an earlier answer.
“I can’t wait till December,” Sutil told Reuters. “I will speak to him [team principal Vijay Mallya] very soon and see what his ideas are.
“I don’t need to wait so long for a seat. I think I know what I can do, so I don’t feel insecure.”
Paul Di Resta is believed to have impressed the team enough to have secured his seat for next season, but Sutil, who has many more years of experience and lies just seven points ahead, has been linked to a move to Williams if he’s forced out of the Silverstone based outfit.
Sutil is however the second choice to replace Rubens Barrichello, with retired Finn, Kimi Raikkonen, the primary target.
