Rubens Barrichello has laughed off suggestions that he is looking to quit Williams and Formula 1 at the end of the season.
The Grove-based outfit has endured its worst start to a season since its inception in the late ’70s having scored just four points from 11 races.
The cars performance has prompted many to speculate that the Brazilian may look to either switch teams or retire, having hit 39-years of age and having competed in a record 314 races.
Barrichello though, writing on Twitter, has laughed off the comments and says he would jump at the chance to sign for two more years with Williams if they were to offer such a deal.
“I saw some news saying that I wanted to stop racing, makes me laugh really,” he said. “All I want is to carry on racing.
“[We’re] working double hard to have a good car for next year. Problems do exist and we are here to solve them. Williams need me as much as I need them, and to be honest, I told Williams that if they offered me a two-year contract [then] I would sign right now.”
