Lewis Hamilton maintained his position at the top of the times in Hungary with a fastest lap of 1:21.018 to go two-tenths faster than Fernando Alonso.

The running order was unclear as the session saw many drivers doing longer runs to analyse the tyre wear and fuel effect, with Red Bull looking strong in race conditions.

Hamilton set his P1 time early in the session on the super-soft tyres, whils his teammate popped into third behind the Ferrari.

Both Red Bull cars weren’t much off the pace amnd slotted into to fourth with Mark Webber and fifth with Sebastian Vettel.

The session saw very little drama, though at one point rain looked as though it would hamper the teams preparations. However, a few drops were all that materialised.

Further down the field, the order was fairly predictable with teammates all within a driver or two of one other.
