Bernie Ecclestone has circulated a revised 2012 Formula 1 calendar to the teams this week in the Hungarian paddock in order to canvass their view on the changes.
As reported on Thursday, Ecclestone planned to shift the Bahrain GP toward the close of the season after the teams expressed displeasure in it opening the season following on from its cancellation this year.
The other changes include the inaugural Austin GP race in the United States moving to a penultimate position, with just a week between it and the season closing Brazilian race.
The Turkish GP is also confirmed to have been dropped due to low attendance figures and the lack of government support.
A three-week break will also take place between the Indian and Spanish GP’s in which an in-season test will take place.
The new calendar will have to be signed off by the governing body, the FIA before it becomes official.
