Mark Webber has dropped his biggest hint yet that he and Red Bull will continue together next season despite their difference of opinion at the British Grand Prix.
The Australian wrote in his BBC column that he spoke with team principal Christian Horner after the race about the ‘team orders’ issued to him in the closing stages, adding that they wouldn’t have an effect on his decision to stay, of which the talks are at a ‘positive’ stage.
“Christian and I had a chat about the situation after the race,” said Webber. “We both put our cases forward and I think we came away seeing it from both perspectives.
“I’m sure you’ll be wondering if it will make any difference to my decision about what I do in 2012, whether I carry on racing with Red Bull or not,” continued Webber.
“The team and I have time to make that decision. We’re talking about continuing at the moment and it’s positive, and what happened on Sunday does not turn my world upside down.
“Putting that aside, it was a positive weekend for me and that gives me a lot of optimism about the rest of the season.”
This comes after Red Bull owner Dietrich Mateschitz said he was certain Webber would re-sign with the Milton Keynes based outfit.
