Renault Sport F1 chief Jean-Francois Caubet has denied that they are looking to drop the Renault outfit after rumours that they have failed to pay their engine supply bill.
The speculation has linked Renault with Cosworth power as an alternative to Renault Sport F1 engines.
Caubet says this is nonsense and they plan to respect their three-year deal which ends in 2013, but not only that, they’re ‘seriously’ discussing the new V6 engine.
“We have a very clear contract of three years for the supply of engines,” he told RMC Radio. “We will respect this agreement. We have been very surprised to hear these rumours.
“We are seriously discussing with Lotus-Renault GP about the V6 engine in 2014,” he added.
Renault will supply a maximum of four teams in 2012 with the addition of Williams alongside Renault, Red Bull and Team Lotus.
