The teams have agreed to return to the regulations which were in place at the European Grand Prix in Valencia a fortnight ago.
Doubt had been cast over whether or not the teams would unanimously agree to scrap the off-throttle exhaust-blown diffuser ban after Ferrari and Sauber refused to sign the mandate.
It is understood that after some negotiations, both teams opted to sign up just before the race began at 1pm (BST).
Therefore, the regulations which caused some controversy and took a stranglehold of the the British GP, will be marked as a one-off and binned before the next race in Germany.
It isn’t known whether the ban contributed to Ferrari’s immense pace on Sunday, allowing Fernando Alonso to take his and the teams first win of the season.
